Let’s Talk Laundry January 21, 2011

Laundry…hate to do it, but can’t live without it. The sorting, the washing, the drying, the folding, the putting away….it’s all so icky! It seems to multiply and carry a life of it’s own. I can never ever ever keep up with it. There is always a load to wash, no matter how much I wash during the day. Why is that? I certainly hope, I’m not the ONLY one that is constantly overtaken by laundry. I’ve recently been thinking about chores for the kids and I dream of the day that Jackson and Kaylynn can do help with the laundry. So, give it to me! Do you have a “system” that works great for you? Do you enjoy laundry? Do you make your kids do it(and it’s TOTALLY ok if you do! no judgment here! 😉 )? Do you put the clothes away right then or do you let a few loads pile up before you put them away? How often do you wash? I wish, for a task that is so necessary, there was a fun way to do it.

It was too lat last night to post this picture, but how in the world can you not love this little girl!!

She just melts my heart! And this is what I woke up to this morning!

Anyways, we had a nice surprise this morning! The doorbell rang and on the door step I found this:

WOOHOO!! We got a blue ray player! (Thanks Chelle!) This was a gift from Kevin’s sister for Christmas. We have needed a new dvd/blue ray player for a while now. I think I might just pick up a movie from Redbox tonight to celebrate. 🙂

Play-doh was the entertainment of choice today and while I was cleaning it up, I was really wondering what I was thinking! (Obviously I wasn’t thinking) I HATE play-doh! The little bits all over the table and all over the floor are so annoying and it seems like I can’t ever get them all up. Not to mention even though there are TWO knives(the play ones), TWO pairs of scissors(the play ones), MULTIPLE cookie cutters, TWO spaghetti maker thingies and a THOUSAND cans of play-doh, Jack and Kaylynn are always fighting over the same cookie cutter, knife, pair of scissors and spaghetti maker that they both want. Either way, they had fun.

I’m hoping to run to Harris Teeter and stock up on some rockin’ deals, so I’ll post those when I get back! 🙂

A New Recipe January 5, 2010

We tried a new recipe tonight and it was so good, I thought I’d share it. In an effort to eat healthier, I searched food network’s site and this came up.

Chicken Sate with Spicy Peanut Dipping Sauce

I made brown rice to go on the side(actually Kevin did) and it was DELISH! I was going to take a picture of the final product, but I had to run out the door before it was done and forgot to ask Kevin to take one so you get the professional one. 😉

On another note, here are the highlights of our day:

-Jack flipped over the side of the couch and fell on his head. He bit his tongue on both sides. I guess he didn’t get the memo the other 10 times I told him that playing on the couch like that wasn’t a good idea.

-The Christmas decorations are finally coming down. I love putting them up, but I despise taking them down.

-PB&J was the lunch of choice. I’m not sure why(I hate PB&J), but it seems to be the norm around here.

-And my favorite one today…Jack was walking around threatening Kaylynn that he was going to spank her. It was quite the sight. She didn’t seem real intimidated though.

All in all, not a very eventful day. All the kids are tucked in bed and I’m ready to relax.
